I met Rich once in 1999 at the San Diego Modart art show hanging during that year’s ASR show. I was struck by his gentle and approachable demeanour. That’s the only time our paths crossed but I always remember that quick passing moment. Of course we swam in the same art waters that were connected in skateboarding. He was a prolific and connected creator. I would be pleased to see what he was up to over the decades. In 2013, I was in Buenos Aires on a trip for my 40th birthday and I came across his work on a wall which warmed my creative soul. Pretty stoked to see his work when I was on the other side of the globe and 1,000’s of kilometres away from anything familiar. I was saddened to learn of his recent passing. I could see from his posts that he was surrounded by love and support but also aware that one is alone with a cancer diagnosis. Rest easy Rich. @movezine #richjacobs
This book was fantastic. It’s a rich, dense and rewarding read. Found it via a @michaelchristie recommendation. I’ve read a few books Michael has recommended. Read his books as well.
Happy 30th Anniversary Chocolate Skateboards! In 2016 @itsandyjenkins asked me to make a graphic for chicobrenes @chocolateskateboards collaboration with @red This is the one and only time I worked with Chocolate. Always stoked for the opportunity to make skateboard graphics . Happy anniversary to all @crailtap Exciting times ahead. Check out @deckaid to see what they’re up to with the 30th year of Chocolate Skateboards. I’ve seen some pretty cool things come out around this anniversary. #chocolateskateboards #chicobrenes
