You are invited to attend the Community Pet Remembrance Ceremony taking place on Sunday, May 17th at Hope Presbyterian Church located at 2211 Wabash Ave, Springfield, IL 62704. Our APL Mobile Adoption Unit will be onsite with adorable, adoptable animals just waiting to meet you. Even better—our staff will be there to help guide you through the adoption process right then and there, so you could go home with your new best friend the same day. ❤️ While you're there, grab a bite—because 15% of all proceeds during the event will be donated back to APL to help us continue caring for animals in need. MEET ADDIE! She’s also wonderfully polite and easy to live with. Addie walks nicely on a leash, doesn’t jump up, and is content with shorter, relaxed walks where she can take in all the sights and smells (sometimes quite literally—she may pause to “stare into space” while taking it all in!). APL’s Upscale Sale was a HUGE success—and we have our amazing volunteers to thank for that! Crissy came to the APL in March 2025 from an animal control facility. She was declawed, 13 years old, and obviously had been someone’s adored pet. She went to a foster home where she thrived - getting pets and laps to sit on, wet food to her heart’s content, and plenty of love. ‌ Now, over a year later, a family found her picture online. They were researching what type of cat they may want and were leaning toward a Siamese or Siamese mix. When they saw Crissy, they felt an instant connection. After meeting her in person and getting pertinent information from her fosters, they decided she was a great match for their family. ‌ Now, Crissy is in her furever home and living her senior years peacefully.
