It is with great solemn reflection that I share this memory at the sunsetting of Temple Israel of Greater Miami. It is my hope and wish that Jewish services will soon return to our vibrant congregation upon preservation, restoration, renewal, and integration of our beloved and historic Bertha Abess Sanctuary and unique Gumenick Chapel, designed by renowned Jewish architect Kenneth Treister, to house the next generation of members. This photo of my Father, Arthur Pitchenik and his Grandson, Wrenik Charles (Zev Wolf) is a High Holiday service at Temple Israel that was full with our vibrant congregation and members spanning generations and by the mere presence of the elders taught the new generation what it means to pray together in a sacred space. Every effort and financial priority must be made to preserve both structures for future generations of Reformed Jews, as is the mandate from our Articles of Incorporation. L'dor Vador!
