VIC STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS – COMP DAY RECAP
New weight class.
New standard.
New version of me.
Bodyweight: 66.1kg
Moving into the U67.5kg class after coming down from 75kg…
And if I’m being honest-I had no idea what I was capable of here.
This comp wasn’t about chasing numbers.
It was about setting the benchmark.
And we did exactly that.
Squat – 120kg (+10kg comp PB)
Bench – 62.5kg (+2.5kg comp PB)
Deadlift – 152.5kg (+17.5kg comp PB)
Total PB: +30kg
5x bodyweight total… YEOOWWWW 🔥
I absolutely love State Champs.
I’ve experienced it before in Sydney, and again here-
the calibre of athletes, the level of strength, the energy in the room…
It genuinely puts me in awe of this sport every single time.
To
@apex_powerlifting
you set the standard.
From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed.
Supported. Seen.
The referees, the volunteers-phenomenal.
That environment doesn’t go unnoticed, and it makes all the difference on a day like this.
Now the real story…
Comp prep wasn’t smooth.
I’ve been battling pressure in my head under the bar-
and it showed up again on the day.
During deadlift warm-ups…
110kg-and I felt it.
That moment where you think,
“this might be it… I might be done today.”
But this is where the people around you matter big shout to my handler
@coach_emilybrabazon
We pulled things back.
We reset.
We leaned on experience.
And with the right calls-
we still got the job done.
To the people and communities who had my back through this-
I’ve tagged you. You know who you are 🤍
This one meant more than just numbers.
It showed me where I’m at.
But more importantly-
it showed me what’s still there to unlock.
And to
@aperionframes - for capturing moments like this… at my absolute best, il never take that for granted!
I’m stepping away now to dial in my health,
to keep building from the inside out…
And I’ll be back.
To pull that deadlift again-
the old school Pretty way…
with absolutely nothing left in the tank.
This is just the beginning ❤️
