Production of the APEX1 fly fabric is now underway. This fabric is the unsung hero of the tent when it comes to packability. Most tents prioritise weight savings. This means that manufacturers must constantly strike a balance: reducing weight usually results in a noticeable reduction in durability. However, because we prioritise packability over pure weight reduction, the equation changes. Packability enables far smaller compromises to be made, opening the door to fabrics that collapse extremely well yet remain highly durable. The result: Our 20D silicone-coated nylon packs down like most 10D fabrics thanks to its looser weave, offering outstanding compressibility with strong tear resistance. And the numbers speak for themselves: • Packs down 35% smaller than comparable 20D Nylon Fabric • Packs down 40% smaller than comparable 20D Polyester Fabric • Packs down a massive 220% smaller than 0.8 oz Dyneema

Our Kickstarter campaign is live! Find the link in the bio. After years of designing, testing, and refinement, we’re beyond stoked to finally launch our crowdfunding campaign. We’d love your support, whether that’s backing the project or sharing it with a friend who loves bikepacking. Every share helps this project go further.

Big shelter. Tiny pack size. Apex1 in its double-wall setup (outer + inner tent) fits into just 1 liter. Or go minimal, with the outer shell only. That compresses to 0.4 liters, including all guylines and bike fixation. On a bike, space can be very limited. And packing up in the morning often feels like a puzzle. That’s why packability was the number one design goal behind Apex1. How did we achieve this? We rethought every detail, from the tent structure to the materials we chose. We even developed our own in-house testing method to analyse how different fabrics compress. We didn’t just compare different types of fabric, such as Dyneema, polyester and nylon. We also examined weaving structures, coating types and coating thicknesses. The result: a shelter that disappears into your kit and gives you more freedom on the trail.

What a moment. Every Kickstarter pledge has been shipped! Seeing the first full production ready to go out into the world feels incredibly special. On the same table where the fabric for the prototypes were once cut during development, there were now stacks of finished tents waiting to be packed and shipped. A huge thank you again to everyone who backed the project and made this possible. Seeing the APEX1 move from prototype to finished product has been surreal. We can’t wait to see the tents out on your trips and in amazing camp spots around the world. Please tag us. We'd love to see where they end up!

One of the most asked questions was whether the APEX1 can be set up without the bicycle. Based on that, we developed an optional pole so the tent can be used independently of the bike. This pole is now included as part of the APEX1 system. It adds only 40 grams and uses a smaller diameter than the main pole, with the same segment length to keep the overall pack size minimal. At the top, there’s a small slot where the cord runs through, allowing the pole to replace the bike as the support structure. It’s a simple addition, but it opens up another way to use the tent when needed. #apex1 #aper #bikepacking #bikepackers

Soon. The wait is almost over. Seeing an idea move from prototype into production is something special. The first stacks of materials, the individual components coming together and the realisation of how many hands and steps it takes to get every detail right. The moment of holding the finished tent gets closer. Excitement level is high! #apex1 #aper #bikepacking #productdevelopment #manufacturing

Update #1 — 200% Funded! We’ve just passed 200 % of our funding goal! A huge thank-you to everyone who backed, shared, or cheered for the project! It feels like a good moment for a small update. Behind the scenes, things are moving quickly: Fabian is in close contact with our manufacturer as we prepare to place the first fabric orders, and next week he will be heading to Performance Days in Munich to meet suppliers and discuss materials in person. Exciting times! It’s amazing to see how much enthusiasm there is for the APEX1. Thanks again for being part of this journey!
