When I imagined
@_thefoldmadras , I wanted to create something more than a studio or a showroom. For me, it is a sanctuary,a place where my work with
@neelabyanuvardhan can be experienced in its truest form, away from the noise, in quiet intimacy.
I also dreamt of a space that could open itself wider, to welcome and collaborate with creators whose work I deeply resonate with whether in handloom, jewellery, accessories, or any other art form that speaks the same language of beauty and craft.
I have always believed that art cannot be confined. It transcends its medium, taking different forms and shapes, revealing itself in ways we may not expect. The Fold is my way of honouring that belief , a safe space to present art in its fluid, evolving expressions.
I hope this becomes a place where conversations flow as easily as the drape of a sari, where traditions and contemporary practices sit beside one another, where we share not just work, but meals, stories, and ideas. A community bound by appreciation, curiosity, and dialogue.
At its heart, The Fold is not just about textiles or objects, but about people. About the resonance that happens when art is shared and experienced together.
