“Huvu! Huvugalu! Huvugalu!”
Huvugalu means flowers in Kannada, a call you’ll hear echoing through Bengaluru’s flower markets.
At KR Flower Market, one of Asia’s largest flower markets, vendors repeat the call as baskets of jasmine, marigold, and lotus move through the crowd. Farmers arrive before sunrise, traders sort the flowers by hand, and garlands are tied strand by strand.
From here, flowers travel across the city to temples, weddings, homes, and everyday rituals, quietly becoming part of Bengaluru’s daily rhythm. 🌸🌺🌷
