This Saturday evening, we are excited to demonstrate that silent cinema is very much alive and thriving!
We will be showcasing new short silent films from Ireland and... Uganda, along with one slightly older film*.
We will kick things off with Chaplin of Uganda, featuring Freddie Mulindua from the capital city, Kampala, and his amusing short titled "Kanaabe (The Washing Bay)".
Following that, we will present Anton Rivas Pertile's "In The Old Green Woods".
Now, we want to share a bit about the older short that will be featured - but let’s keep it a mystery until Saturday!
Lastly, a film by the talented young filmmaker Tilly Driscoll Smith, called "Look at Me" (one of the scenes shoot at the Silent Cinema!).
Some of the screenings will include live piano accompaniment by AGUSTINA TABORDA.
