It’s a 10-day countdown when I walk out of my job for the last time and step boldly into working for myself—and honestly, the emotions are hitting in waves. This 5 year journey has never been a straight line; it’s been messy, uplifting, exhausting, and beautiful all at once. When I first arrived in Australia, I had nothing to fall back on—not a single client, not a familiar face. I had to swallow my pride, start from scratch, and rebuild myself piece by piece. I worked in different salons, under different people, learning how to adapt, how to grow, and how to stay hungry even when it felt like I was starting over again and again. Slowly, one person at a time, I didn’t just gain clients—I built a community of people who trusted me, supported me, and helped shape the hairstylist and person I am today. And now, standing here on the edge of this new chapter, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and courage. After every setback, every long day, every moment of doubt, I made it through—and now I finally get to bet on myself. This next step is scary, exciting, and emotional, but it feels right. I’m ready.
