The clock hits 2am as I lay here and reflect on the past couple of weeks.
It’s always disappointing when you put so much effort into something for it to not go your way. After last years injury and failed half marathon attempt, I knew I wanted to put in the effort into training for BMW Dallas.
I completed 75 hard, ran almost everyday, strength trained, all for this moment, to be able to finally run the race I wanted. And for it to all come toppling down is absurd. To call it a disappointing result is an understatement.
But in all of this, I find gratitude and satisfaction. I think failures are apart of this sport more than most. But I find satisfaction in knowing that all that effort has led me to become closer to my goals, whether that be weeks or even months from now. The past couple of months have led me to grow fond of the early mornings, late nights, but most importantly to be grateful for the things and the people that I’ve gotten to build relationships with.
To this sport, and to my supportive circle around me. Thank you for showing up and for caring. Without y’all, I would’ve never been able to finish.
Here’s my quarterly post for the year. I’ll see yall in 10 weeks for my first full marathon 😬
Quick little zoo date recap! It’s so hard to remember to record when all I wanna do is live in the moment. So here’s the only footage I remembered to take lol 🐒🦍🐯🐘
