I don’t get to say this much but I’m tremendously proud to be a part of such an important and beautiful institution like Sesame Street. This weekend I’ve met folks in person I’ve been working with for so long and have only ever talked through a computer screen or through the speaker of a phone. People’s whose work I respect and admire so greatly. A few of them of them were honored tonight and I congratulate them all. To work with Sesame Workshop and to play just a small part in such a grand design is an honor, a privilege, and a great point of pride in my little life. And thank you to my friends and colleagues at Sound Lounge, you make coming to work a joy, an inspiration, and worth all of the yelling that I do at my computer. As they say, it’s an honor just to be nominated. Thank you all.

@char_char_sliiide lent me a Holga, a toy medium format camera that I have heard so much about but have never actually used before. Turns out: I fuck with it! Very much so! I love the vignetting around the edges and the plastic lens is surprisingly sharp? what a sick little object

been playing around a lot with no input mixing techniques and having lots of fun making some wild digital sounds. for the uninitiated, no input mixing, pioneered by Toshimaru Nakamura, is a technique involving purposefully creating a feedback loop within an audio device (boards, pedals, anything with an in and out) and then shaping and manipulating that feedback into all sort of sounds. You can get stable oscillators, LFOs, subharmonic distortion. In essence, it's a synthesizer. But a synth that just happens to have no additional input running through it. My setup does have a toneplug so that technically counts as an input but that blends in so well with other stuff that I'm giving it a pass.
