An absolutely stunning exhibition curated by my sister @smocontemporaryart featuring extraordinary works from across Africa and beyond , including stunning pieces by our very own Nwanyioma, aka Somi Nwandu @sominwandu showcased in the Habachi Room.
The exhibition includes vibrant canvases , intricate ceramics , sculptural wood, metal, textile, and digital installations, every corner spoke volumes. The space also has a gorgeous rooftop with stunning views of Lagos for outdoor events . .

There’s something deeply grounding about standing in the presence of history, identity, and creative expression all at once.❤️
I immersed myself in this bold, thought-provoking world. a powerful reminder that art is not just seen, it is felt… it tells stories of resilience, evolution, and pride.
I was particularly drawn to Lady Kwali , a legendary ceramic artist whose work helped place Nigerian pottery on the global art map. The images of her exuded strength, passion, and intention. And interesting fact - she remains the only woman featured on Nigerian currency!!
From brushstrokes to sculpture, each piece echoed the richness of our heritage and the courage of a generation that dared to define its own narrative.
From the timeless clay legacy of Ladi Kwali to the evocative narratives of Bruce Onobrakpeya , the pioneering brilliance of Ben Enwonwu and the bold, contemporary voice of Uzo Njoku , each piece reflecting the richness of our heritage and the courage to define our own narrative.

My 2026 Easter Reflections … When we visited Saudi Arabia late last year, our very hospitable tour guide took us through the rocky and rugged desert, to a most spectacular sight called “The Edge of the World.”
That day, I learned and realized that the edge is not the end , it is the place where faith begins… where we are reminded that there is more beyond what we can see.
Today, Easter Sunday, our hearts are still heavy even as we rejoice. It feels strange to be grateful and yet grieve, to carry joy and sadness at the same time. The loss of our baby boy , KanKan has left another gaping void…
Yet, as Christians, we are reminded that Easter is a promise of new life, hope, and resurrection, even in the face of death.
I pray that his life, and his passing, are not in vain, that somehow, they are part of a greater purpose, much like Jesus… a story we cannot yet fully see.🙏🏼
Our grief is deep. Our tears, behind closed doors, are real. But we choose to trust in God’s promise: that love, light, and life can rise from the darkest moments.
Today, rejoicing feels hard. Yet we remember KanKan, we honor him, and we hold on to faith,that his life can and will inspire hope, love, and change….
As we reflect on the resurrection of Jesus, we believe that even in loss, life triumphs, and that his memory, like Easter, can be a source of light for us all.
