Honored to be tapped in by Kyrie’s family to create custom pairs as Father’s Day gifts for @kyrieirving and his dad, Drederick. Additional pairs were made for ANTA athletes @carislevert , @therea1djones , and a few of Kyrie’s closest.
The eight-pair collection features three colorways, “Indigo,” “Kakishibu,” and “Khaki/Denim”, each designed using traditional Japanese boro and sashiko techniques.
The process begins with dyeing, painting then stitching. Each pair features over 250 stitches across the uppers, made using a combination of hand stitched sashiko, a standard sewing machine, and a hand-crank leather machine. The original highlight colored laces were swapped for rope laces, finished with custom beads inspired by necklaces worn by Kyrie. 📿🪡🧵

Gifted by his wife, this pair features painted Oregon green & yellow uppers, embroidered tongues detailing his college accolades and stats, reverse Swoosh, hand painted Ducks wings, embroidered heel logo, and aged soles.

Inspired after Ye’s SoFi show last Friday. 7th time seeing Kanye live and it was the 🐐 performance 😭
Fully restitched Boro uppers using Japanese fabrics + denim. Hand stitched sashiko from toe to tongue. Cream painted midsoles. Finished with rope laces. Kept the OG details: pink liner + glow sole.

I started with a blank pair of black gloves and transformed them using patchwork made from Hawaiian fabrics inspired by Max’s homeland. Added hand painting, restitching throughout, embroidered UFC and Gloves For Good details, and layered stitching over the fingers for extra dimension. Finished with a custom patch signed by Max.
