I was absolutely thrilled and elated to visit Helmut Lang exhibition – after all, he’s one of the very reasons I fell in love with fashion in the first place. I still remember the profound impact his work had on me when I first laid eyes on it.
Back in 2004, my first trip to New York, straight away heading to his SoHo flagship store with a pilgrim’s heart, where I bought two pieces that I’ve cherished and kept in my collection till now. This retrospective has brought a flood of memories from that era rushing back. It’s truly a pity that Helmut Lang’s fashion journey came to an end, yet in another sense, he has transcended into a legend of the fashion world, holding an irreplaceable place in my or people’s heart. #helmutlang
