🎉The wait is finally over!!! It’s publishing day!!🥂 My book Structural Stitches is now out and about and I am formally a published author!! (It’s even available in the big guns guys!! Talking Waterstones and WH Smith. You can get it whilst you wait for that flight in the airport!! Well… maybe.) So yes all your fabulous pre-orders will be shipped to you very soon (talking next week once they’ve arrived with me) so will be arriving on your doorsteps very very soon. How fucking cool! Yesterday I was just a knitter, now I’m knitter with a book! Also. Spot the difference time! The piece in the back is the cover image but can you see the differences!? I only spotted this once I had my book in hand and not before. Can say I was surprised I did that much knitting for the front cover considering each took a while 😂. Kudos to the cover designer though. It’s very subtly done!! Big thanks to my publisher @thecrowoodpress who made this all happen! . . . #publishedauthor #structuralstitches #knittingbook #knitter #howtoknit #machineknitting #machineknittingbook #amachineknitteraguide #structure #form #textiles #fashion #3dknit #3dknitting #threedimensionalknitting #threedimensionalknit #3dtextiles #structuraltextiles

The Art of Possibility. 2026. What a weekend. It’s been incredible and I feel so honoured to have been asked to be a part of it all. I’ve enjoyed every single moment of the development stage, the ridiculous amount of maths, the problem solving, the knitting and construction, the install, the exhibition, the conversations, the watching of the interaction, the immense joy that two of the wire cables broke because the public played with them that much (the knit was fine!), and I wish it could have been there longer. I wish I spent more time people watching playing with the balls and that’s something I could have done forever, but there’s something about just letting people interact without prompts. And I find there’s something special in knowing people enjoyed my work and interacted in ways I’ll never know. They took that experiences with them and it’s theirs only. It’s made me so determined to get more interactive exhibitions going. More breaking the rules, less “do not touch”. Im feeling very proud that I’ve managed to do what I set out to do and introduce play and interaction into the art world whilst covering a pivotal moment of time for women’s football, and at the Saatchi gallery of all places, and hope this is literally just the beginning. Huge huge thanks to @zoehitchen and @jacquimcassey for getting me involved, and to the teams at @emiratesfacup and @adobewomensfacup for hosting, and also to @saatchi_gallery especially for the not so common set up. Also massive thanks to @laurie_costume for jumping in last minute to help construct and Caitlin for helping along the whole project. Onto the next project. 👀 . . . #saatchigallery #machineknit #3dknit #interactiveart #ballgamesallowed

Ball Games Allowed. Commissioned by the FA in celebrity 150 years of the FA Cup Culture in situ at the Saatchi Gallery. This installation brings together large-scale, suspended knitted forms designed to be touched, moved around, and played with. The work invites physical interaction, challenging the expectation that artworks should only be viewed. Drawing on the history of women’s football, including reference the 50-year ban on women playing the game between 1921 and 1971, it reflects on how communities continued to form and thrive despite restriction. Knitting, often passed between generations, becomes a parallel to football culture, where traditions and loyalties are inherited over time. By encouraging interaction, the work asks audiences to break the rules, creating a shared, tactile experience that connects play, memory and community. Go explore the installation and all other artist commissions in the Saatchi Gallery this weekend only! Press images to come. Sturdy iPhone did the first job. Too big to get into one image………!! . . . @saatchi_gallery @emiratesfacup @adobewomensfacup . . . #interactiveart #cupculture #3dknit #knittedart #ballgamesallowed

Green Rectangle Finally framed. It’s been sat around for about 2 years in my “to frame” pile, and whilst the machine is knitting off a mammoth project I got around to it. Tactile and decorative sound absorption panels. Available to purchase. Always available for commissions. Feat. This jumper was to be a present for my Mum for Christmas. I got the yarns mixed up when knitted and put in an acrylic. It shrank to be a size XS from a L. Devastated. Always check your yarns. I guess the state of the waste on the neckline was foreshadowing. . . . #asmrsounds #linking #machineknitting #knittedjumper #machineknit

Developments for a very special weekend. In like a month or so. Book them trains! We’ll be London bound. I’ll reveal all when I have the go ahead. In the mean time let’s whet the appetite. The machine however has approximately 144 hours worth of knitting ahead of it…. . . . #3dknitting #3dtextiles #interactivetextiles #interactiveart #machineknitting

Happy to announce (although a week or so late…!) that my book Structural Stitches is now available and published in the USA! It feels surreal that it’s been published 5 months now, and it makes me so happy to know that everyone (well…. Mainly machine knitters) can get there mitts on the book now very easily from across the pond. It’s available through all the big shops but I urge you to pop by your local independent book store and request it there to support them! The big guys already have enough denerino. Still available through my website (I have many copies available) and I ship to the EU for those who can’t get it locally there! . . . @thecrowoodpress #structuralstitches #structuralstitchesbook #machineknitting #3dknitting #3dtextiles
