My name is Naomi Narcisse, and I’m the designer behind Another Coyote. I’m an emerging Indigenous fashion designer, this journey has been my dream since I was a child. I remember teaching myself to sew with just a needle and thread, taking apart my own clothes to create something new.
Through the years I focused on my education and building a stable career to support my family as a single mother. Now that my children are young adults, I’ve chosen to return to that dream with their full support and love. I am pursuing my PhD studies at UBC, while starting a clothing brand Another Coyote and Director of Indigenous Initiatives, People, Equity and Inclusion at SFU.
I do this work to create space for equitable platforms, and to inspire and mentor youth that are up and coming.
I am so grateful for the people I have had the chance to work with so far, and I am excited for what’s ahead.
