One of the questions I get asked most often is where the inspiration for my designs comes from.

And the truth is — it can come from anywhere.

This piece, for example, stayed in my mind for a long time. The combination of materials is everything — black jet, a quartz cabochon, carved tourmaline. Three stones, one object, perfectly considered. Chinese snuff bottle, 1750–1870. Black jet with a quartz cabochon set at the center of engraved flowers. Stopper: carved tourmaline.
