If you’d like, please read :) Hi, my name is Annie. It’s really nice to meet you! This year (2024), I’ve decided to embrace my love for dolls, toys, and anything remotely related. For a decade, I kept myself from collecting for many reasons. A few of these reasons include but are not limited to: the subtle shame and embarrassment I felt, the lack of support in my life, the negative memories associated with my childhood that I still needed to understand, my diagnosed anxiety, and more. Gratefully, today, things are different for me. Instead of feeling fearful, I’ve decided to dedicate a space for myself where I can share my interests with others and hopefully make new friends in the process. And so, this Instagram exists - as a form of expression - where I can be kind to myself and others. In addition to this, I’ve also created a YouTube channel where I can unbox, review & explore things that satisfy my inner child. I told myself I’d do this whether people watched or not as a goal for myself. My secret aspiration is to safely make friends with those I’ve met in the doll/toy community. Is The 2012 Barbie Look Wardrobe worth the inflated secondary market price? …Probably not…BUT it’s still a super fun/cute concept. I’d really like an updated version to be brought to market today. Maybe in Black? Maybe with an attached light-up vanity? Let’s keep it casual 🤓 while I unbox the newest Sunny Madison doll from the @officialrainbowhigh , My Fashion Style line 🤗✨ Sunny is one of four characters in the Fashion Doll line and she is the best in my opinion. I did also purchase Amaya - but - we don’t need to talk about her 🤓. I can tell that they have a lot of fun designing looks and themes for Sunny because consistently, she gets the best dolls. For this particular Sunny, Im very drawn to the color combo of her skirt and graffiti top. She’s giving Y2K in my opinion. I also really appreciate and love her hairstyle. There is a lot of product in it , but the pigtails are just so freakin cute. And her face of course - it’s incredibly sweet, playful…just very soft and cutesy. Very Sunny. ☀️ With all that being by said - there are some negatives here 😩. She isn’t articulated - but to be fair, I’ve gotten over that. I’m more bothered by the fact that she doesn’t come with a stand. Like, why 🥴? She can’t stand on her own whatsoever. The other complaint I have is the price. 💰This sunny used to be $14.99 USD but due to the whole tariff situation, she is now $19.99. So, with no doll stand - or knee articulation - you’re better off waiting for a sale. She is worth her original price though. I’m very happy I bought her. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Barbie! Are you ready for the most romantic ride ever?!” Said Ken. Barbie clapped her hands in delight. “Oh - Ken, this is incredible! You really outdid yourself this time.” He smiled, taking her hand in his. “You deserve the world, Barbie. But since I can’t give you that, I figured a ride above it was the next best thing.” And so they floated - higher & higher into the sky, hand in hand. Barbie knew that this would be a Day that she’d never forget. xoxo 💘 - This project was truly a labor of love. Every element in this photograph—except for the dolls and their outfits—was handcrafted, photographed, and then composited in Adobe Photoshop. While I physically attached the balloon to the basket, capturing the entire piece as a single unit wasn’t feasible. Instead, I photographed the hot air balloon in sections and combined them digitally. Before building it, I first sketched the concept in Procreate on my iPad Pro, using it as a faithful reference throughout the process. I believe I successfully brought my vision to life—it turned out exactly as I had imagined. I couldn’t be happier with the result! Check my stories to view it in a different format.
