Casimir and I are glad to share our newest sound installation Horizontal Rain at the New Current, open during Rotterdam Art Week from 25-29 March.
A poetic evocation of a physical sensation through digital synthesis and spatial sound, Horizontal Rain is a gentle exploration of sonic materiality and the overlap between tactile and associative qualities of sound.

Artist duo Anni Nöps & Casimir Geelhoed create sound installations and sonic experiences that combine their technical and artistic backgrounds.
Using innovative spatial audio software and 20 speakers, their work Horizontal Rain taps into the poetic potential of sounds. It explores sonic materiality by treating sounds as sculptures and choreography. Invisible to the eye, but perceivable by hearing, the sounds can spark images and sensations in the listener’s mind. Come hear the invisible for yourself!
This installation will be presented at The New Current 2026.
This year’s edition explores the theme Connections, between bodies and spaces, materials and technologies.

𝐹𝒾𝑒𝓁𝒹 𝑜𝒻 𝐹𝒾𝒸𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃𝓈 presents nuanced listening music in an intimate setting. Threading through gentle ambient, ghostly drone, shattering bright noise and refined electronic compositions, the evening joins together a lush world of sonic landscapes.
Four live shows by internationally revered artists and upcoming talent will fill the walls of OT301: Torus, Farida Amadou, Casimir Geelhoed and Giulia Rae.

Looking back at Borderlands, a 22-channel spatial sound installation by Casimir Geelhoed and me at @stedelijk.museum.schiedam as the final room of exhibition Ekstasis.
Borderlands is a delicate aural space at the edge of perception. This sonic space oscillates between real and fictitious, suggesting environments that are continuously in-between, in progress and in flux.
Ekstasis was curated by Sanneke Huisman and @nickverstand . Exhibited at @stedelijk.museum.schiedam from June 2023 to January 2024.
