Malmö Art Museum is, in conversation with Art Workers with Disabilities (DK) and Whose Museum (SE), initiating the collective research project ‘Through Our Dialogue’ (TOD). The project seeks to address institutional access and inclusion through a collaboration with young artists and art workers with mental and physical disabilities. Over a one-year period, a dialogue group will create a self-formulated program, including in-depth conversations, workshops and shared experiences. We will focus on a slow, trust-based exchange that nurtures our process and internal relations. The group’s dialogues and knowledge production will culminate in a navigational tool designed to support public art institutions working within the area, or in contexts, touching upon health and access. The tool will provide a more nuanced understanding of our human differences and offer critical insight into contemporary accessibility work. TOD will contribute with new knowledge and build important connections that fosters a development of collaborative methods between art institutions and their publics. Through this, we hope to raise awareness of accessibility and inclusivity challenges in public institutions. Malmö Art Museum invite individuals who are interested in shaping the practice of art institutions, accessibility, and inclusivity to apply for the dialogue group by sending your CV and a min. 150 word motivation to Anne Thomasen on [email protected] by 23 June 2025. Please include any accessibility needs in your application. You’ll receive an answer to your application 4 July 2025. Where: online and different locations in Malmö and Copenhagen Who: young (under 40) artists and art workers with mental and physical disabilities (8 participants) Language: English Participant fee: 1.500 SEK per online meeting (2 hours), 4.000 SEK per in-person meeting (5 hours incl. lunch break) + transportation costs Consent: meetings will be documented but nothing will be shared publicly without consent The project is supported by Foreningen Roskilde Festival (DK) and The Danish Arts Foundation (DK).

Better late than never, but it was a huge pleasure to talk to @rum_id back in spring about the blurred boundaries among art, craft and design. Photo by @enokholsegaard
