It’s been such a wonderful home to live in between here and Melbourne with my husband @lukejwarwick , 2 sons and our 2 golden retrievers. Ellie Spiro - 12th October 1927 - 28th November 2025
Today our family said goodbye to our matriarch, my grandmother Ellie Spiro.
It’s very hard to put into words what she meant to me because she sits so deeply inside of me that I can hardly explain it but I will try.
She was absolutely one of the strongest women I have ever known. She was also very loving to me always and someone I looked up to my entire life. She was a wonderful grandmother and she loved all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She was a perfectionist and had extremely good taste. She always wore the most beautiful clothes often tailored to her exacting standards. I learnt a lot from her about fashion and what I should and shouldn’t wear. She was a fabulous swimming trainer, bridge player, piano player and gardener but above all else someone we all held in high regard. She persevered always and never, ever gave up. She was very generous. She kept our entire family together and would protect us all from anything or anyone she saw as a threat. She gave me great advice and I loved and cherish our long talks. She got me my first job in the industry I have now worked in for 30 years. I know she was very proud of me and of all of us. I was proud of her. I loved her with all my heart and I will miss her so very much.
I am comforted by the thought that she is now with my father and our grandfather flying high. Good-bye Lel, I love you always and forever. ❤️
Our old Straddie beach house that we owned for around 10 years has just gone on the market for sale with Olivia Cole @dolphinpropertysales . We sold the house to it’s current owners around 5 or 6 years ago and I worked with them closely to fully renovate the house and add new furniture and art to make it larger and more comfortable for them and their family. It’s a great house, straight across the road from my favourite beach, Home Beach. It’s being offered for sale with everything - all the beautiful custom-made furniture made in amazing fabrics such as @carolinairving@ralphlaurenhome@anna_spiro_textiles@brunschwigfils , wonderful art by artists such as @sallyleeanderson@mirandaskoczek@emmalipscombe_@timsalisbury just to name a few. Last night we celebrated my 30th year working as a designer at the very beautiful @augustwestend . A magnificent room full of special clients, family and friends. Thank you for the love, loyalty and support you’ve given me over the past 30 years. I am one very lucky girl ❤️ Anna xoxo
