It's officially spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains and we are excited to offer a seasonal class that celebrates our favorite little creatures. Make whimsical tumbler or bowl adorned with bees, dragonflies, or ladybugs. These intricate and fun details are made with a special Murrine glass.
Workshops are offered every Friday and Saturday in March. Space is limited sign up today!

It was honor to host two very talented Aboriginal Artists from Australia in the studio. Many thanks to the UVA Art Department, the Kluge-Ruhe, and Papunya Tula Arts Organization for making this collaboration possible. John West Tjupurrula and Marlene Nampitjinpa created intricate patterns out of powdered glass color that were sculpted in hot glass by Artist Minh Martin. The day was filled with unparalleled inspiration and the merging of creative ideas both ancient and new.

We are so excited to feature the work of artist Brielle Duflon at our BIG opening this weekend! Brielle creates the pigments and dyes for her intricate and timeless paintings. We have both originals and prints available in the gallery.
Brielle DuFlon (she/her) is a mother, painter, installation artist, natural ink maker, gardener and forager. She spent the first 18 years of her life in Antigua, Guatemala, and identifies as a Third Culture Kid. She's been in Charlottesville for a collective 15 years.
Brielle's paintings are usually painted with her own natural inks, which she makes at home using plants from her pigment garden, foraged nuts and seeds, collected kitchen scraps and some purchased powdered pigments. The inks have given her a warm, familiar and elegant medium and color palette through which to explore grief, being a mother, and seeing natural elements around her closely. When asked about her inks, she says "I feel I have come to know them like close friends and I respect them deeply."
