On this day, April 8, 1990, Ryan White passed away at just 18 years old. After contracting HIV through a blood transfusion, Ryan became a powerful advocate against stigma and discrimination, showing the world the human impact of fear and misinformation.
His courage helped change public understanding of HIV/AIDS and led to the creation of the Ryan White CARE Act, expanding access to lifesaving treatment for thousands of people.
Today, we remember Ryan White and honor his legacy by continuing to fight stigma, support people living with HIV, and advocate for compassionate, inclusive communities.
