🗞️✨ Today is World Press Freedom Day ✨🗞️ At Annapolis Pride, we recognize the vital role of a free and independent press in protecting democracy, amplifying truth, and giving voice to marginalized communities. Journalism helps shine a light on injustice and ensures that LGBTQ+ stories are told with honesty, dignity, and care. We stand in solidarity with journalists everywhere—especially those who risk their safety to report the truth—and reaffirm our commitment to protecting the freedom to speak, write, and be heard. 🖊️ #WorldPressFreedomDay #AnnapolisPride #FreePress #ProtectJournalism

On this day, April 8, 1990, Ryan White passed away at just 18 years old. After contracting HIV through a blood transfusion, Ryan became a powerful advocate against stigma and discrimination, showing the world the human impact of fear and misinformation. His courage helped change public understanding of HIV/AIDS and led to the creation of the Ryan White CARE Act, expanding access to lifesaving treatment for thousands of people. Today, we remember Ryan White and honor his legacy by continuing to fight stigma, support people living with HIV, and advocate for compassionate, inclusive communities. #RyanWhite #HIVAwareness #EndTheStigma #LGBTQHistory #AnnapolisPride
