I still can’t believe what happened on my first European Cup this weekend 🤯😳 After two podiums I finally made the gold medal 🥇😇 • The comp didn’t start well but with a little bit of luck and a 19th place at qualification I still made it into semis where I could show I can do better and qualified for finals. ✨German Championship ✨ After two consecutive 4th places, I wanted to break the curse and get back on the podium. Well, I did break the curse—just not the way I wanted. Unfortunately, I injured my shoulder on my first attempt in the semis and couldn’t continue climbing. The season is over before it even really began… and maybe it’s the last one of my life. Trying to stay strong, but it’s f***ing hard right now. This one really broke my heart. I guess the tough times aren’t over—just getting tougher. Sorry to everyone I disappointed again 😕

Even though it was a last-minute decision I was super psyched to compete at the European Cup in my hometown, where I watched my first World Cups live and fell in love with the sport. First, I want to thank everyone who came to cheer me on—having so many people I know around made this competition so special. 🫶🏼 This competition felt like a step in the right direction. Physically and mentally, this winter has been one of my toughest, and returning to competitions and comp-style boulders takes a lot of time and patience. I’m not quite there yet, but I’m slowly starting to feel some improvements. Despite all the positive experiences, I’m still a bit disappointed, as my performance was far from my expectations. Especially in front of my home crowd, I would’ve loved to do better. But I have to accept where I’m at right now and focus on the positives in order to keep improving. I hope I can already show some of that progress in 3 weeks when the German Championship takes place at the same venue. I’d be happy to see anyone who comes by on March 28/29th! Last but not least huge congrats to my teammates @afrahoenig and @lucia.doerffel for taking home 🥇 and 🥉 So happy for you two.
