My dance is a reflection of the diversity of my ancestral roots across Central and Southwest Asia, North Africa, Eastern and Western Europe. It celebrates the amalgamation and affinities of music, dance and cultures across a huge region and highlights the creativity that evolves from people in the margins and in between places of societies. These have always existed outside of labels and boxes and never remain static. That is the magic! 🪬✨️

TECHNIQUE & FLOW
Take your dance practise to the next level! This workshop focuses on identifying, targeting and recruiting the joints and muscles used in SWANA/belly dance with enhanced stretching, strength training and drills so that you can move more effectively and efficiently in your dance practise. This is TECHNIQUE. Develop consistent FLOW of movement and musical interpretation through masterfully lead choreography and improvisation in the second half of the workshop. All accompanied by the beautiful music of Anatolia, Egypt, Greece and Armenia.
No matter what your level or personal goals, you will come away from this workshop filled with new inspiration and content to fire your home practise through the autumn months ahead.
CYMBAL CIRCLE

We will explore different tonal technique employed in a wide variety of training styles including Turkish Zills, Egyptian Toura and American Finger Cymbals and will end the lesson with an inclusive and supportive improvisation circle.
With regular communal practise, we are evolving into a percussion ensemble and welcome new players into the fold to progress the art of finger cymbal playing and its presence in the Southwest.

Let's start a percussion revolution!! Join us for the 1st of (hopefully) many cymbal circles open to all.
