It’s been hard for me to post this, but it feels right now. I remember when I met you, Star, like it was yesterday. My family and my boyfriend kept telling me I was completely mad for wanting to take in a random cat that my brother was allergic to. I had just lost a best friend on my birthday and you came right out of a bush as soon as she left. I wish I could go back to that moment in the grass when I sat watching you and trying to give you cheese and prosciutto which you absolutely hated! I would wake up every single morning that summer beyond excited to rush outside and spend the day with you doing yoga or lying in the grass together or reading or singing to you. And somehow, by the end of the summer, you won my whole family over and we finally took you home with us.
You are my best friend and my cat, and I miss you so much it hurts like hell everyday. I’m really glad that you’re not suffering anymore and that I can always touch my heart if I need to see you. I’m so grateful for the sweetest five years filled with so much love that you shared with me and for teaching me how to be kind to myself. Thank you for always being my funny sweet girl. I told you this as I was petting you right before you passed on, but I will always love you to Saturn and back forever Star.
