Anna Dunn is a lesbian writer who grew up bouncing between her ski resort hometown in Idaho and a racehorse farm in Washington. Naturally, she is fascinated by insular communities and the ways people contort themselves to live within their norms. Her work spans many genres and centuries, but often explores queer survival, gender expectations, neurodivergence, and the absurdity of wealth. In addition to her screenwriting, Anna is working on her first novel, set in the same world as her pilot, The Winner’s Circle. She is in post-production for Oh, Glory!, a short film she wrote and directed about a boy who starts seeing ghosts on the day of his Catholic confirmation. Anna studied creative writing and biology at Sarah Lawrence College and will graduate with a master’s degree in film from Columbia University in 2026. She currently lives in New York, but as long as she gets to keep writing, she could make do on Mars.
