I still can’t believe I got to step into my dream and share it with everyone. It was so amazing to see how a commercial is made and how many people work so hard behind the scenes. Everyone put so much care, thought, and effort into making everything the best it could be. I learned so much and enjoyed every single moment. It was seriously so fun… and I got to eat lots of ice cream too! Thank you for all the kindness and guidance during my first dream journey. I disappeared for three months and honestly… it was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I was not okay. I’m talking mentally in the trenches, fighting for my life type of not okay. Falling in love again cracked me open in ways I did not expect. It brought up layers of trauma I genuinely believed I had already worked through. Turns out, I hadn’t. Not fully. So I logged off because I needed to choose myself in a deeper way than I ever have before. No distractions. No performing. No external noise. Just me, my thoughts, and the work. And it changed me. I’ve spent the last few months healing, learning myself on a whole new level, and pouring everything back into me. Sitting with things instead of running from them. Feeling things instead of numbing them. Choosing growth even when it was uncomfortable. And I can honestly say… I feel lighter. Clearer. Stronger. More like myself than I have in a long time. I’m still in Canada, still very much in love, and still figuring it all out in real time. My girlfriend has been such a grounding, steady presence through all of this, holding me down while I learned how to hold myself. Also… dating a woman >>>> it just makes sense for me 😂 iykyk. I’ve missed you guys. Truly. The messages, the check-ins, the love… I see it all and it means more than you know. This next chapter feels really good. I feel hopeful again. This is (part of) the audio message I sent to Shayla on August 8, 2025. Heavily edited, because if you’ve ever had the honour of receiving one of my voice memos… you know I ramble. Being a self-employed bridal stylist is incredible, but it can be lonely. Not socially- We’re always around people. But lonely in not being around OUR people. The ones who truly get it. We work a wedding together, then say “see you at the next one,” and never really get to connect. I see friends in corporate roles gathering, growing, bonding, but I didn’t see that for our industry. So I created it 🤷🏼‍♀️ With Shayla, the vision of community, decompression, and education came to life. I watched artists have lightbulb moments. I watched educators check “teach a masterclass” off their bucket lists. I watched women laugh, share real talk, and reset their nervous systems. We live in a world that glamorizes hustle. I want to glamorize balance, community, and new skills, so we can keep making that money hunniiii- but still honour the needs of our mind and body. I came home to flowers and a card from Dustin & Milo. My support system keeps my fire burning, and I’m so grateful for the encouragement I receive from the people in my life. The First Annual Bridal Beauty Summit was a success, just as I knew it would be. Believe and you will achieve. Build it and they will come.
