CASA VETES, written & illustrated by ANNA BANE. Published by GARBO BARDO BOOKS. Printed in Los Angeles, California. Casa Vetes is the first publication from Garbo Bardo Books, an imprint devoted to exploring the intersection of architecture, archives, and erotics in cinema. Printed in an edition of 50, the book features silkscreened covers, original illustrations & typeface, and coil binding. Drafted from film stills, interviews, and imaginings, Casa Vetes is a rambling blueprint of Gena Rowlands and John Cassavetes' family home on Woodrow Wilson Drive in LA, where they shot several independent films. “'She’s a miracle,' John declares as he surrounds Gena with chaos-catalyzing marvels. He brings in rain on cranes and shatters window panes before her feet. He surprises her with a table of prank toys and informs her she will backflip into a swimming pool. He fills her hands with leashes and cages and directs her to parade an ark’s worth of goats and ducks and chicks out of a checkered yellow taxi and through their parlor. You couldn’t possibly look away. You may as well just stay forever." DM for more information on GARBO BARDO BOOKS, where copies of CASA VETES are stocked, and forthcoming GBB titles in Summer 2026.
