A couple of days before my hand surgery, I was allowed to knit, which gave me the chance to finish the second sleeve of my FRENCH KiSS sweater. Now, I feel a bit sad that I couldn’t complete it in time for winter because spring has arrived here today, and it’s like magic every year! 🌸💐🎉
The FRENCH KiSS sweater is made from @rowanyarns Kid classic inn the colors 888 and 918. It’s knitted top down in one piece with dip stitch pattern all over and should become the next piece of my dip stitch pattern collection.
Now that I can’t knit for the next few weeks, my love for knitting has even grown stronger! But your incredibly kind and sweet messages mean the world to me, and I am so grateful for your support. Thank you a trillion! ♥️😘
This is my uniform right now … clothing without zippers and handknits with wide sleeves, like the COOMO cardigan. Is there something like #ootw (outfit of the week :)? This sample is knitted from @lamanayarns Como, color 57 Marmor in fishermen‘s rib from the top down in one piece.

So here we are - one day after my hand surgery, wearing my REBEL cardigan which luckily has sleeves wide enough.. Since the index finger has two tendons but absolutely only needs one (who knew?!), my torn thumb extensor tendon was able to be connected to one of the index finger’s tendons. I’m still in pain, but as I was told, the surgery was successful. Now I only need 12 weeks of patience… knitters! you know what that means, right?

After sharing the LiTTLE REBEL cardigan in my last post, today I’m wrapped in the big sister — the REBEL cardigan. Snow outside and grey skies here… I needed some bright color and warmth around my neck. For this red version I used Quince & Co. Chickadee in Winesap, held together with Katia 50 Mohair Shades in Fuchsia. Mixing an orange-leaning red with a pinkish red gives the most beautiful depth and glow — one of my favorite color tricks.

And … my Hand surgery postponed to mid-February, but till then I’m now allowed to knit slow stitches. I’ll take that win. ❤️

Since I still can’t knit, I’m revisiting my WIPs to see if I can at least get a pattern written. I haven’t made any progress on this little cardi, but it was so nice to see it again after a long time. The LiTTLE REBEL cardigan is the little sister of the REBEL cardigan and will be a year-round piece, so I’ve designed it with a smaller collar and a V-neck, and it will feature buttons! For the black version, I’ve chosen a 100% cotton yarn, Gima from @itoyarn , held together with Milano from @lamanayarns . It’s a wonderful, dry combo 🖤

I can’t knit right now, so there’s nothing new to show — but at least I get to wear my knits every day, and they somehow feel new depending on how you mix and match them. Today’s #ootd is the TANi cardigan knit from Queensland collection united (color 35) held together with Rowan kidsilk haze vintage (color 001). It’s knitted top down in one piece with a beautiful fitted shoulder and a roomy body 🌸

Thank you for all you well wishes on my last post!!! So I’m super grateful to share that the BABA Sweater ♥️ Chunky pattern is now available on Ravelry (link in bio) 🎉 I knitted the sample using Rowan Softyak DK — a cotton blend that keeps its shape beautifully. And because I love it so much and to not switch sides when putting it on I stitched a little heart to the back collar. Happy knitting 🧶

This is as far as I got with my FRENCH KiSS sweater – until the pain in my hand is getting worse. So I finally went to the doctor and I’ve now received a diagnosis, and unfortunately it isn’t a good one. Due to my wrist fracture—which has since healed—the extensor tendon of my right thumb was damaged and has now ruptured. I’m scheduled for surgery in early February and hope it will be successful. This means I won’t be able to knit for at least two months and will be limited in writing and every day life too. I’m feeling a bit anxious and low at the moment, but happy that the BABA sweater Chunky will be out this weekend. Are your needles ready?

There is not much of a difference after blocking because the yarn held its shape beautifully. It’s @rowanyarns Softyak DK, knits up like an Aran weight.

Started tidying up my knitting samples and ended up falling in love with the Armor Sweater all over again. With her elegant collar, the beautiful stitch pattern and the neat edges. #ootd. And it’s an easy to knit raglan constructions with no short rows :)
