Inez, Vinoodh… congratulations on your 40 years! What you’ve built together is so deeply moving, such a powerful and emotional body of work. You’ve proven over and over again that fashion editorial can be art.
I have to tell this story because it still makes me smile. 2004. I’m on set, I hear you’re literally 3 studios away, and I just… had to meet you. So naturally I pulled off the most elaborate “accidental” wrong turn during lunch and ended up “by mistake” in your studio, “completely lost”. You guys saw me, we started chatting, you took a Polaroid. A week later we were shooting together for Chloé with Phoebe Philo, then Vogue Paris…with Emmanuelle.
And look at us now. Hundreds of hours together, on set and off. So many stunning images, so much laughter, so many memories.
Thank you for always supporting! Every time I came to you with some idea or a favor, you were just… there. Always yes. From Anthony’s first campaign for his own label to my 25 Magazine, never once did you hesitate.
Aside the professional journey, it’s the friendship, kindness and generosity of spirit that I adore the most about you both!! As we grow older we value the little things more than anything else. I am so proud to call you my friends.
