We come from a great family. We’re First generation Australian with parents from Sicily (Italy) and Sparta, (Greece) Where we grew up we had people around us from both sides of the track and we got pulled into both those lives. We experimented with drugs early and we lived fast with little thought to the future. In Steven’s early teenage years he found the underground hard trance scene in Melbourne and found inspiration musically but along with that came heavy drug use and inevitably formed an addiction. Joey had worked in promoting for nightclubs and promoters and quickly built a DJ brand with our brother Yanni. They played techno as Hyper Binary and ran parties under Konnktd with a few mates. As a duo they toured domestically and internationally and released singles and albums on international labels. Yanni and Joey struggled with drugs for years and also were gripped by addiction. In 2018 Yanni passed away from an accidental overdose, he was 25. We both spiralled. Steven had a young family and Joey was getting ready to tour internationally. Steven, began using food as an emotional response and Joey spiralled further into heavy drug use. Both overweight, our mental health had deteriorated significantly and we were both on the cusp of wreckage Over the next few years we individually and collectively changed our direction. Both lost significant weight and changed our bodies, connected with our spirituality and overcame anxiety and depression, Joey went through years of failed rehab attempts to now be sober for over a year. We started sending music to each other of what we had been up to an decided to start creating something together. House music. It felt right. We released our first single August last year with record label Tjum Tjumba. With Yanni by our side we started releasing our music through our independent label Yanone Records. Our vision for the future is our music playing on dance floors all across the world, infused with the energy that lifts people up. To be on the largest stages outpouring our energy into whoever accepts it. To allow our story to be heard so that others can make the come back too! #ourstory #housemusic
