This time last year, I was preparing for my first solo exhibition at the incredible @artesumapaz residency. Grateful to @yinlauu and everyone who supported me through it. As I prepare for my next residency @farofasp in Brazil, I’ve been reflecting on this past year — a return to focus, to making, and to trusting my own voice. What a journey. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way. #installationart #soloexhibition #lifeofanartist #sculpture #sitespecificart

It seems that 2025 was a year where my tools got bigger… and so did my pieces. This year stretched my capacity to learn, to try new materials, and to not be afraid of my imagination. What a year! Thank you to all new and old friends for your inspiration and support - may 2026 be what your soul dreams of and your body dances for. I’m excited for what 2026 will bring. Back in Santa Fe March–May to make more beautiful beasts (need to warm up from Boston lol). If you’re around, come say hello. #wanderxwonder #publicart #earthtosky

2023 I dreamt of feeling this beautiful planet again - be careful what you wish for! 🪄🌀💫 This sacred 3000m high mountain lake in the heart of the páramo moved me deeply, as did Luis’ stories of his people. The frailejones stand in quiet ceremony, as they have for hundreds of years. They are the elders of this living ecosystem, guardians holding centuries of rain, silence, and story. For the Muisca people and their descendants, this is a place of origin and offering. Before entering the coca leaves are blessed between hands, and the smoke allowed to rise to meet Mother Heaven — a deep gesture of gratitude, a thread between earth and spirit, between those who came before and those who walk here now. Intentionality is not just a word here — it is lived. As is Pachamama, in her ancient ways of holding, nourishing, and remembering. The páramo literally & spiritually breathes for us all — a cradle of water, a keeper of stillness, a reminder that some places are not simply visited, but entered with reverence & presence - listening first, so the land may speak. Thank you, Luis, for this introduction to your world, and for guiding me through your sacred land. #gratefull #magical #pachamanca #breathe

This is Don Gustav — once a maker of fishing nets, now weaving architectural installations for boutique resorts — transforming his family’s tradition through modern materials. In front of his home, the old fishing yard remains a workshop and community hub, where neighbors gather, knot, laugh, share stories, earn fairer wages and keep alive the skills and connections that were fading with gentrification. What moves me most is how his doorstep is one of laughter, sharing, and kindness. He welcomes everyone — encouraging all to knot and share; knot together, knot to stay together, knot to a better future. Each loop feels like an act of connection, & a quiet step toward collective growth & community revival & rejuvenation. One day, I dream of having the funding to return to work with him and his community — to weave a piece large enough to hold their stories and laughter. I imagine a project with the local school, where children design a woven monument to their community, their memories, their resilience, their futures, and their voice. 🤞🏼 Thank you, Don Gustav, for your patience and generosity. Knotting with you was like breaking bread — an exchange of stories, nourishment & and spirit that still lingers on my salty hands. #thistimelastyear #communitycraft #weavingstories #materialculture #artandcommunity #colombianartisans #wovenheritage #storythroughmaterial #caribeanlife #collectivemaking

After a year of exploring what #intentionality means to me, I threw it all up in the air and approached this clay with none. These babies just emerged — raw, nameless, with a life of their own. I love them. Somehow it feels as if they embody everything I’ve absorbed, and perhaps who I’ve become, over this year. A return to my roots, to the earth, to the transformative journey of life. I feel deeply privileged to have had the opportunity to learn from the incredible communities of #kogi #kichwa #mestizo #wayuú #muisca #pastos 🌀🐢⭕️

Tiny guests of Pachamama — only catching glimmers of Neptune’s beauty. Her depths unknown, her knowing beyond our grasp. I am humbled, open, and forever in awe and joy. Thank you. #patchamama #neptunewonders #poormansgalapagos #ecuadormagico #myfirstreelvideo❤️

From plant to golden thread — the beauty of an ancient Andean culture, proudly passed down through generations. We cannot let it die because of our throw-away culture. For generations, Don Hernán’s family have prepared Fique fiber, turning it into mattresses and cushions. This art is disappearing, yet socially, ecologically, economically, and creatively, we cannot afford to let it vanish. Fique is fully biodegradable, incredibly strong, and deeply rooted in Andean cultural traditions. It was an honour to meet and learn from Don Hernán. Fique was not just his family’s livelihood, but his survival story through the violent years — his community and his heritage. He shared stories bound to the fiber itself, and not once did he speak bitterly or with self-pity about the atrocities this land has seen. Instead, he carried a quiet pride, marked by humility and kindness. He was simply happy to share his family’s story and traditions, with the hope that they may continue. Fique is living Andean heritage, sitting between craft and land. This is more than just fiber — it is memory, livelihood, and resilience woven together. Spending time with Don Hernán reshaped my work, and his stories could only become the heart of my exhibition. It is the least I can do to honour him — his kindness, his family, his community, and his craft. #fiberhistorygeek #sustainablefashion #andeanculture #weavingstories @artesumapaz
