I'm tired, I'm tired, I'm tired. These past few weeks have been nothing but tiring. Seemingly every day another black person's murder is widely broadcasted and every single time their death is somehow justified by people who are incapable of compassion. This "justification" is a continuation of harmful stereotypes set in motion during and after slavery because the "freedom" they've so graciously bestowed upon us must be undercut by the notion that we can never truly be human like them. The continual oppression of People of Color is not something we can post about and continue with our lives. The oppression of any group of people should not be tolerated. If you don't feel the need to post anything about what's going on, take a stand in some way, you can unfollow me. If you don't see the importance of standing up in this situation, you don't value Black lives, and therefore don't value mine. I know you see these things and your silence says to me that you don't care. & to the people that do care, the people that I see posting to their stories and their feeds, keep your anger. Don't let go of it. Use it to further the cause. Those protests that you see are anger and frustration. We are angry because we've been dealing with this frustration for what seems like forever. Time and time again we see that the perpetrators of these crimes get off without due punishment, yet our communities are policied and brutalized, ripped apart without mercy. We don't get the benefit of the doubt because we aren't cops. So to all our allies out there, please check up on your Black friends, your POC friends. Make sure they're ok, support them, and most of all LISTEN. White allies- you hold more power than we do and your support of us is VITAL. Hopefully, we finally get justice. For once, I hope we get justice. (I'm going to make a linktree of resources I find online because I want to get involved and I would love for others to join me.) #blacklivesmatter #acab
