Spent a couple hours procrastinating last night, waiting for Briana to finish her long day (rip being a doctor 🥲) Anyway, fun little challenge for myself. Use headphones if you want lowend I guess haha
I enjoy what I do. Here’s some photos from some of those moments.

Napier show recap with @avalanchecity and @lukethompsonmusic tour. Good times!
1. The very asymmetrical theatre we did the show in. (Sounded amazing)
2. @mtboyo_ trying to get our key to our room at the “Qaulity Inn” at 1.30am. We were given verbal instructions to lock box with an envelope inside that then had a map to our room. Was fun 😂

Fun weekend down at @festival_one . Such a great weekend of spending a lot of time with a lot of great friends.
First time wearing a few different hats down there. Kept me busy! Very lucky to have the opportunities I have and to get to do the things I get to do!! Thanks Jesus!

FoH mix straight off the @allenandheath sq6 desk, no A&H plugins, no waves, nothing 🥲 and a bit of phone audio blended in for some ambience.
I love doing Foh because often you have to be quick on your feet, think outside the box, problem solve all while trying to put a mix together. Often you’re walking into rooms/pas/systems that you maybe wouldn’t have spec’d if you were doing it yourself haha. Tonight was one of those. Here’s what I prioritise in situations like that:
1. Do I know what’s actually going on. As quickly as I can, I get to grips with what I’m dealing with. Things like routing, pa, mics on stage, placement and monitoring. From this I can have a ground up approach to my mix knowing what tools I have available to use.
2. Bands comfort. When a band is happy with what they’re hearing in their ears they will 9 times out of 10 then give you better material to work with. Church situation or not this is a huge one for me and I think aids your FoH mix with better source material from the performers.
3.Prioritise the mix for the event. Tonight the pa was too small for the room and so I had to push the vocal probably a little more forward than what I liked, I had to compress a little harder than I liked to trying to get what was critical into the room and serving the goal of the night. Not always fun but compromise is part of the game in live situations and so my mixes goal is to sound as good as it can be, whilst serving the purpose of the night/gig/service. No point giving someone a cool as goat if all they asked for a was lawnmower. (Thought of that analogy myself 😎😂)
