Lately I have felt so stressed and powerless with all the bad news and the state of the world, probably like all of you. Being unemployed and spending all my time on Instagram doesn't help, but I have found some confort in looking into solutions I can take myself. The hardest part is to feel powerless, but I still believe there is small things we can do, as a community or as individuals. I have spent a lot of time looking into alternatives to big American companies, and I have seen many Instagram posts about it, but I wanted to put my rock on the pile and express myself too about this subjects. And if it can motivate some peoples to take that step, i'm very happy with that. Because i'm gonna be honest, it is long and tidious. But it is worth it. I do want to precise that this has nothing to do against the american people themselves, but I cannot stand being attached so strongly to a political entity that is dislike and disagree with so much. If you're wondering how it's like to do promotion work when you're a baby author, i'm bringing you with me for a little tour of some librairies in my home town! Most of the work is to convice them to order some books to put on the librairies shelves, and that's quite tricky! Why? If nobody buys the book, they can't send it back. So, easier say than done :) But summary of the day, this time, it was a success! One library ordered Coray to put in the shop! ✌️ It maybe seems like a small victory, but for me it's a big win! I also discussed about a potential signing session with another one. Ce clan, appelé Drakhis, l’encourage alors à les rejoindre, et à se battre à leur côté dans une guerre sans fin, se jouant dans l’ombre de notre société depuis des milliers d’années. Elle accepte d’intégrer ce clan, pour les aider dans leur combat et en apprendre plus sur elle-même, et se découvre Thanatos, déesse de la mort. Elle devient une machine à tuer, au service de sa nouvelle famille. Service presse – Coray et les Drakhis Aujourd’hui, je te parle de Coray et les Drakhis, un roman de fantasy jeunesse riche en action, en conflits de clans et en émotions fortes. On y découvre un univers sombre et intense, porté par des personnages marqués par la perte, la vengeance et des choix difficiles. Même si ce n’est clairement pas mon genre de prédilection (mon cœur appartient encore un peu trop au pays des Bisounours 🧸), j’ai apprécié la fluidité de l’écriture, le rythme soutenu et le développement des personnages, notamment certaines relations humaines très touchantes. - Un roman engagé, - une ambiance sombre assumée, - et une vraie réflexion sur la violence, la loyauté et la reconstruction. 👉 Une lecture que je recommande aux amateurs de fantasy jeunesse, d’aventure et de récits où les émotions sont mises à rude épreuve. 🇬🇧My opinion on participatory publishing system🇬🇧 So far, my experience has been very mixed. To put it simply, I'd say it's not worth it. This is the reality inexperienced: I paid €2,800 to publish my book. -> Knowing that I only receive 20% of sales, considering the price of my novel, I need to sell 500 books just to break even. -> Books are printed by order, which is more convenient for the author (distributor takes care of printing and shipping, so no need to worry about it), but they are also much more expensive per copy. -> However, the main work of the layout and printing will be done properly. This can be risky if you do it yourself. What about advertizing?: Your book quickly gets lost among the others. -> Although publishers might make a small selection, the sheer number of publications is still too high to stand out. -> The biggest problem: Bookstores aren't taking orders. It's not worth it for them with this system. -> Books are coming out quickly one after the other.
