These incredible people are the Anglicare NT Board of Directors. They keep Anglicare NT on track in the way we perform our work, make decisions, manage money and stay true to our vision, mission and values. We are a big, diverse organisation so their job is mighty.
Twice a year board meetings are held in our regional offices. It's a long held tradition championed by the board to connect with regional staff and service providers. Our last board meeting was held in stunning Nhulunbuy.
It was Howard Bath’s (3rd from left) last board meeting 😥. After 11 years Howard is stepping down. Howard was the first NT Children’s Commissioner and has championed for the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children throughout his career.
Howard’s knowledge of child protection, justice systems, mental health and program evaluation has helped Anglicare NT expand and strengthen the programs we offer to children and families. It’s with a deep gratitude we farewell Howard and thank him sincerely for his years of service and unwavering commitment to the children and young people of the NT.

Today's Rental Affordability Snapshot confirms it: the Northern Territory is in a housing crisis, with private rentals out of reach for people on low incomes.
Our 2026 snapshot found NO affordable rentals for singles on Youth Allowance, JobSeeker, the Age Pension or Disability Support Pension. 0% of properties were affordable for single parents or an out of work couple with children.
“People can’t afford to rent, and our public and social housing stocks are too low. These two factors create a well-worn pathway to homelessness,” said Craig Kelly CEO Anglicare NT.
Anglicare NT is calling for action:
✅ Raise JobSeeker and related payments so people are not trapped below the poverty line and can afford basic living costs and housing.
✅ More social and affordable homes in the NT to address the severe shortage and long waitlists.
✅ Fix housing tax concessions so incentives better support affordable housing outcomes.
Safe, affordable housing is a right, not a privilege. It’s time to rebalance the system so everyone can live with dignity and hope for the future.

We had an amazing day raising awareness of Youth Homelessness Matters Day at Couch Surfing 2026. We couldn't do it without the couch surfing teams, stall holders, sponsors, spectators and speakers. And let's not forget Anglicare NT's youth and family team who make the whole day happen.
Congratulations to Grassroots for taking out first place in the couch races, with Youthworx NT coming in second. It was very competitive out on the track today!
