Hi friends.
The lamp that got passed on ...
Most brands, when they want to celebrate something, reach for something new.
We're doing the opposite.
In the coming weeks, we'll be giving away one lamp. It's not new. It's over 70 years old in fact, and it was loved by someone else first. It lived in their home, sat on their desk and carried their story for years.
Then it came to us for repair, and they wanted it to find a new home. So it became Lauz's 500th rewire.
There's something quietly radical about this. The lamp being given away has already been cherished. It has already been passed down from father to son. Now it's being passed on again — not as a product, but as a responsibility.
Whoever receives it won't be its owner. They'll be its next custodian.
That's a different kind of relationship with an object. It asks something of you. It was kept alive by people who cared. Now it's your turn.
We think that's worth more than anything new we could have made. And maybe, just maybe the planet will thank us, and that feeling makes me smile on World Earth Day.

Spring has clearly worked its way into the studio.
A few Easter chicks settled down beneath the warm glow of an Anglepoise. Now they are out and about, climbing the arms, peering over the shade, and causing the sort of mischief we can probably excuse at this time of year.
Well Light does have a special way of bringing things to life after all.

We will present our latest product launch which is inspired by the special project code 315 from our archive. Alongside a selection of designs that have shaped the brand over time.

500 acts of love - Celebrating B-Corp Month
Today is not really about a number. It is about a person.
It’s about showing up, day after day, and doing something with care, skill and patience. The sort of thing the world too often overlooks.
Lauz has now completed her 500th Anglepoise repair.
That matters to us. Not because it gives us something to post about at the end of B-corp month. But because it says something about what we believe.
Repair matters. Products should be built to last. If something can be mended, it should be, and if it cant it shouldn’t exist in the world.
No product should be designed or destined for landfill. Too much in the world is made to be replaced. Used for a brief moment in time, and then thrown away quickly in the shadows.
This is the opposite of that. It’s what happens when the hands, connect the head to the heart. And a lamp that still has life in it is given a shot in the arm, and a new lease of life.
The best part of all this was not the number. It was the smile on the face of Lauz before the repair was even finished.
That smile said everything.
It said this work matters. It was the process of looking after things that matters most. The things we keep, mend and pass on can carry more meaning than the things we casually replace.
For us, repair is not an afterthought. It is an act of love. An act of custodianship.
A quiet promise that the story does not end here.
