I realized I’ve never formally introduced myself as the face behind Angle Media, so here I am! My name is Robbie Grantham, or just Rob for short, and I love to direct/shoot/edit chaotic, unhinged music videos for heavier artists. I’m based in Douglas, GA at the moment, but really enjoy traveling to new and familiar places for my work. I’ve been creating music videos now since 2013, directing my first video for my best friends and going from there. For the video nerds out there, I love shooting with Sony cameras and a wide variety of unique lens options. I edit everything in Adobe Premiere Pro, and can do remote editing sessions with artists to dial in the exact amount of energy needed for the video. I also create music under the monikers @violententityx and @myheartxyourhands . I have two dogs and two cats, and have been a lifelong animal lover. 🐶🐱 If you made it this far and want to see about working together, feel free to shoot me an email or a DM! “Starless” by @yourspiritdies out now via @mnrk_heavy . Shot over two days, we utilized the main room of @preservingconcerts to create an eery, foggy atmosphere that matched the vibes of the music. We intentionally wanted this video to be dark, with the “story” being birthed from the minds of the band, @flashed_by_tuna , and myself on the drive up. I view this video as taking place in the afterlife, seen through the eyes of a spirit as they’re being taken by something sinister. “Starless” by @yourspiritdies is finally out. This music video means so much to me on so many levels. This is our 8th time working together on a music video. 8 times is insane to me. This band feels like family to me, and I know that this team of people within and behind this band are some of the most driven and talented people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Above you’ll find BTS photos from the shoot, taken by none other than @flashed_by_tuna . His dedication to the craft and the YSD team is unparalleled, and he truly is the 6th member of YSD. He even contributed ideas to the videos and snagged that additional direction credit; can’t sing Tuna’s praises enough. I met half of the band in Greenville, and we drove the 8+ hours to Pittsburgh in their van, packed with all of our equipment including every piece of gear I owned. I wanted to be able to do ANYTHING for this within my means, so I brought it all. Our drive consisted of a few Sheetz visits, lots of music video talk, and some reminiscing on the past. We stayed in a Harry Potter-themed AirBnB (I was in Ravenclaw room) and just chopped it up in between shooting sessions, watching dumb 80s horrors and music videos together. It truly felt like a vacation for me instead of work. The brotherhood I felt on this trip was unlike anything I’ve felt before from a band; once again, YSD opened their doors to me and made me feel like the 7th member of the band (counting Tuna of course 🐟). We shot two videos over the course of 5 days, filming mostly at @preservingconcerts . The owner, AJ, was a godsend for us, and gave us more freedom than we probably should have had. Shoutout AJ for real. I can’t thank Your Spirit Dies enough for trusting me to bring their vision to life, and allowing me the freedom to help shape that vision and create something that I truly believe is both of our best work to date.
