❤️ Standing together in peaceful defense of freedom of speech and human rights is @not_controversial_ 📢
We at @not_controversial_ like so many others are aware and have always been aware that defending our fundamental rights becomes controversial for many, due to abuse of power and oppression.

My new single “Two In This Story”. Out Friday, May 16th! Pre-save link in my bio ❤️
I’ve always been the kind of friend growing up that was a bit naive when it came to new people. I always think the best of people I meet, and I mostly believe what they tell me. This has led me to have a lot of really close friends.
But in the last few years, I experienced a very overwhelming turn of events. A person close to me turned out to be a fraud. Years of friendship, stories, and a lot of drama, it all turned out to be lies.
Despite everything that happened, I have decided to keep being “optimistic” about people and stay open to new friendships.
And of course, do what I do best as an artist - write songs about it! I’m so excited to share with you this new single.
Have you had a similar experience? If so, you might relate to the lyrics.
Love from Ane x

Suspended in overwhelm and gratitude.
When I began creating this new work, LAY HIM QUIETLY, I knew I wanted to integrate film and music. I came across an old YouTube video of “Dirty Windshield” by my dear friend Ane Brun, and immediately fell in love with it. The song resonated so strongly with what I felt this piece needed to express.
I asked Ane if she would be willing to re-record it acappella, and I’m so grateful she trusted me with her art and shared it so generously with this work.
I also knew I wanted to collaborate again with Lucas Wallenberg, an incredible filmmaker I’ve been lucky to work with before, who helped bring this vision to life. Here you get a glimpse of these two components coming together.
And to my entire team, Ivo who composed a 40 min heartbreaking score, Anh who created stunning costumes and set, Linn magician behind lights, and of course Ninos for the beautiful dancing, as well as all the presenters and the technical crew at Östgötateatern, thank you, thank you, thank you. This work exists because of all of you.

This was me with my two Swedish Grammys in 2021!! So amazingly proud of these two and the albums I released the year before.
“After the Great Storm” and “How Beauty Holds the Hand of Sorrow”.
Today is this year’s Swedish Grammy Awards, and I’m not there. I’m busy finishing the upcoming album that will hopefully give me a couple of more reasons to dance with awards in my hands! 🩵
I was caught completely off guard by the Norwegian Lyrics Writer’s Fund a few days ago, where I received the Honorary Award 2025! To get this recognition for my lyrics is very moving and meaningful to me! Thank you for the flowers, the artwork by Håkon Bleken, and a of course the money 🙏☺️ and this was also my big 50 birthday so it was quite overwhelming! @musikkfondene
Today we remember Benjamin Hermansen, who was killed by neo nazis 25 years ago, in Oslo. He was only 15 years old, and was killed in a brutal racist attack. We must always speak up against racism, and actively fight to create a safe and equal society for everyone. The song «Benjamin» is from the tv-series After Benjamin (2025).
I’ve been in Norway for the past 2 weeks, cooking up something exciting with @anebrun for later this year. It’s something completely new to the both of us so the learning curve is pretty steep — not unlike this hill — but the first steps have been taken and the fizzy sensation of going way outside my comfort zone is starting to feel like a friend.
On my last night before heading to Bergen (research for another project I’m dedicating this year to 🤫) there was a strong winter storm so we rushed out into the morning snow with Ane’s high-energy pup, Chaka Khan, to snap a few celebratory pics. Ane’s amazing jacket by Danish geniuses @sittingsuits 💐
Back in Oslo for round two soon 🇳🇴
My lovely and very brilliant friend @jdutchermusic and I are here trying to balance out the madness in the world ❤️ I just really enjoy singing this song with beloved friends in my life. I think more than ever, let’s be conscious about all the love, decency and peace that we have to give to each other. And of course - let’s not hide under a rock from all the crazy, because we must stand tall and fight back. ”All we want is love” (from When I’m Free 2016)
24 Days of Music – Day 24 🎅❤️
This little Christmas EP consists of my own rendition of the classic “Silent Night” where I’m very cheeky and sing my own lyric. I wanted to capture the feeling of Christmas when I love it the most. The silence, rest, a break between the busy Fall and the start of a new year,
It also includes the track “First day of Christmas” that I wrote in 2013 after a tumultuous year of 2012. I remember being alone on the Dec 25th in my new apartment in Stockholm. I still had a couple of days before my family would arrive from Norway to celebrate with me.
I felt exhausted but ready to start anew.
A bit like I feel this year, actually!
Curious about what’s next!
So I wish you all a beautiful holiday - in what ever shape you spend this time of year! The Sun has shifted towards brighter days, and my heart as well.
Lots of love, Ane ❤️
