I was aware of Neil before I met him. He was one of the original storied editors at Funny Or Die. Years later we were both hired on a show where we had to learn Avid at the same time on the job. While I was working through my general storm cloud of frustration with the software, Neil was calmly figuring out how to do cool stuff with the effects editor that I didn’t know were even possible. He was an inventive and quietly hilarious editor and he brought such a calm, coolness to the workplace. Years later he invited @listgenerator and myself to an LA Kings game where, as a season ticket holder, he could sneak us on to the ice after the game. Completely out of the blue he treated us to a crazy once in a lifetime experience. In other words, a very Neil thing to do. Neil was the best of us. Rest In Peace friend #neiledit
