For the sets I was thinking how you know when you’re a kid and the sand from the beach sticks to your sunscreen it’s kinda the same as when u grow up and your sweat dries on your skin after leaving from the party. This zoomed in sterilized nostalgia which can only exist in the present like imagining the smell of piz buin and the feeling of Coca Cola coated teeth but everyone knows the recipes changed years ago

I wanted to play w subverting domesticity, the desert dunes feeding the mountains and consuming familial structures kinda thing. Was looking at some surrealist refs and ofc pop stars and decay after natural disasters. I built everything on the second floor of a riad in the Medina and it was like 40 degrees on set that day

At @sanabenzaitar I created a galactic intersection of traditional and revolutionary industry. I was thinking a ton about not just the manufacture of wool, but the ancient craft practices associated - and the minimizing perspective those practices have in the art world. Somehow, after so many years I still got those art school essays from the old boys ringing in my ears.
