Well unfortunately I didn't win last night, however this competition has brought me more than I could have ever hoped for. From professional clips of sets to send to promoters, playing at the Glee, playing in Leicester Square, meeting Ricky Gervais, free gig tickets and more. I also got to live the glamor of that life even for a month or two and had the support from friends and family that genuinely meant so much. And in a way isn't that the real victory? The answer is of course no but congratulations to the actual winner Valeria Vulpe and all the best in Wembley! Finally I want to say a genuine thank you to everyone who supported me, voted for me and kept me going when I was stressing out constantly for 2 straight months. Also a big thank you to thespiritofcomedy and Ricky Gervais for giving me some of the most memorable experiences of a lifetime that I will be boring people with for ages to come.
Well this time next week I'll be in Leicester Square Theatre performing in the final of the Ricky Gervais Spirit of Comedy Competition. The winner gets £5,000 and to support the man himself in the Wembley Arena. Entering this competition with The Spirit of Comedy all I wanted was to perform on the same stage at The Glee Cardiff that I've seen countless acts as an audience member, anything else was just gravy.
To get through, enjoy myself up there in front of a packed audience and be able to perform in Leicester Square in a month for the final of a nationwide competition is insane. To be able to get a photo of me looking like the last thing a hitchhiker sees before they end up on a milk carton is the icing on the cake. I never thought that would happen to me and it wouldn't be possible without friends who laughed at my jokes and who came to support me and vote for me.
