Most of the songs I have been playing on this Behold The Lamb Of God Christmas Tour are new ones. I have been getting a lot of questions from kind people wondering where they can find the songs. I have two answers for you at this moment.
1. I have been working on a new record that I hope will be out the first half of 2024.
2. All of my new songs - and other unreleased ones - are available through my Patreon. I record videos of me playing each new song after I write it and put it up for the community there. At this point there are over 70 of those songs available there.
In addition to getting access to all of those songs on Patreon we also have monthly Happy Hours on Zoom where I play music and games - two of my favorite things. And starting in 2024 there are plans for a monthly writing group on Zoom as well.
The support I have received from the Patreon community over these past years has been such a gift. It is directly helpful in helping me make that record. But ultimately I love the community of it.
I don’t do hard sells on anything except for badminton and @ladybirdtaco . So I won’t do that now. But if you are looking for a way to have access to these new songs and join in a community of people who have helped me immensely, here is your invitation. We would love to have you. You can find the link in my bio or on my website. Or you can go to Patreon and search if that sounds more fun. :)
Thank you!
Happy Mother’s Day.
This weekend was a great chance to celebrate the women in my life.
My daughter graduated from St. Edward’s University in Austin. I am so proud of her. The ceremony took place in the same gym that held my high school graduation in the 1900s. I am a lucky dad.
My mom was at both of those graduations. I am grateful for the love, care and support over the years. Sooooooo may years. I am a lucky kid.
This also means that @iamjillphillips has officially raised two kids through college. I keep thinking about how she slowed down her music career to be home as a present mom for our kids when they were little. And then as they were more independent, she went back to get her masters (during the day so she could be back home in time for the kiddos after school). She would do anything for the kids. I will do most things. She will go down in the mother’s hall of fame for sure. I am a lucky husband.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you mothers - whether you have kids of your own or not. Thanks for making the world a more compassionate place.
I had so many great interactions from my last episode of “How To Be A Good Neighbor”. There were many people saying I am crazy (in a good way, I’m sure). There were neighborly offers of legal advice. There were many messages of increased empathy for my specific neighbor. What a success! You would think my work here would be done.
But … no! There are always more ways to be a good neighbor. I don’t know if you guys have been reading up on your Reels - but there is a loneliness epidemic happening out there. And this is just my little way of fighting back.
I hope you are encouraged to be a good neighbor today - and go to great lengths to make your neighbor feel welcomed home.

This Monday marked 12 years of the weekly high five walk with @nontweetinggabe .
We didn’t do a big celebration or anything. It was just a normal Monday high five - much like the 600+ weeks before it. We walked 3/4 mile and met at the halfway point between our houses - the driveway to the Sevier Park Community Center. Then we walked inside to play badminton for an embarrassingly long time (and counted it as training for the senior Olympics).
12 years is a long time. When we started this ridiculous weekly tradition, I had no gray in my beard and my oldest child was in middle school. Now I am an “empty nester” who is halfway to being a mall Santa. Twelve years ago Gabe had no kids and was a full time musician. Today his daughter (who calls me “Uncle Five”) is as old as my daughter was when we started and he sells gajillions of tacos every day at his 4 locations of @ladybirdtaco .
This is just to say that so much has happened and changed over these years. But in other ways - nothing has changed. Same path. Same sidewalks. Same middle point. Same high five. Same friend.
I am grateful for all of it.
And I hope this is an encouragement to anyone out there who longs for the gifts of long term friendship. It is out there for anyone to have. It just takes one time of reaching out. And then one after that. And then one after that. And then before you know it - it is a way of life.
If you have found your own way of cultivating that gift - share it with us in the comments so we can all steal from your experience.

HOW TO BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR
Tip # 37 - Make them feel seen.
Everybody wants to be seen. My good friend @curtthompsonmd says we all come into this world looking for someone who is looking for us. I agree with him. And isn’t it weird that we could live next door to someone and not know what is really, truly going on in their lives? We can so easily miss really seeing the people closest to us.
Part of being a good neighbor means making sure your neighbor is really seen. In this segment of How To Be A Good Neighbor I offer a simple tip to make sure your neighbors feel seen all throughout their day.

About 5 years ago, I started a page on Patreon where I could do two things:
1. Post every new song that I write (along with a “behind the song” video talking about the song came to be)
2. Host a Zoom Happy Hour where I share some songs and play some games with the community there (that has become more like family).
I wrote this song, “Nobody is Nobody”, yesterday afternoon and posted it on my Patreon page today for the kind supporters there. But I also felt like sharing it more broadly because I always need to be reminded of the dignity of all people around me. I hope you like it.
If you are so inclined, I invite you to join my Patreon community. There are over 100 songs posted on there - most of which have never been released to the world - and the GullaPatron Zoom Happy Hours every month (there is one this Monday) are a lot of fun (at least for me).
Thanks for listening.

I could sense that the social media universe was longing for some math. Here you go.
If you live in IN, IL, KY, OH, MI, FL or NE and want to add a show to my Indiana, Nebraska or Florida trip, let me know. I like playing songs for people.
