We don’t really wear our pins…at least not regularly. Wearing your pin is usually reserved for exams, competitions, and the occasional special dinner a but there’s still pride attached to them as a symbol of accomplishments.
When I started at L’Abattoir in 2019, I had just gotten my pin two weeks prior. I was officially a somm, but L’Ab was where I learned it was a craft that you practice daily. My mentors and colleagues, both in the restaurant and throughout our community, were the ones that shaped my journey over the past six years. My guests made the job fun every night.
So, here we go! One last service in this gorgeous building, with this awesome team, and wearing this little reminder of when this journey started.
