⚡ Today my new Seabuckthorn album ‘A Path Within A Path’ is released on the French label LAAPS @iikki_laaps ⚡ It felt like I was venturing into new terrain on this one, as the guitar isn’t the main instrument throughout, actually guitar only appear on two songs. Also I’m happy to announce there are a few guest musicians on different songs, @dean_mcphee features on his electric guitar, @c.l.deak plays harp & bowed vibraphone, @loscil with his well known electronic wizardry and as usual, @phil.cassel on double bass & brass. Mastered by James Plotkin @plotkinworks . After many failed attempts, I captured the lightning cover photo during a night storm whilst trekking above Pokhara, Nepal in 2008. (no filter used on the photo) Available on blood red coloured vinyl + CD. I occasionally make electronic sounds, under my own name and I’ve got a new album on pre-order from today called ‘Yonder’. It’s many layers of microsounds, textures, pulses, outside noises and hidden instruments to form a kind of sound collage. 🎧 New album ‘Inlandscape’ is released today with @fluidaudiolabel 🎧 Really excited for this one. My guitar was recorded on an old reel to reel tape machine, along with guest musicians Phil Cassel on the upright bass, tuba, trombone throughout and with Robin Vargoz playing violin on a couple of songs, which brought in new kinds of elements to this album. From today, I’m selling an additional run of CDs I put together (pictured), to go alongside the Fluid Audio CD packages (arriving soon, but are available from the label). Mastered by James Plotkin. 💿 New album on pre-order ! 💿 Seabuckthorn - ‘Never The Same River’ will be released on CD June 19th by @losttribesound This album feels busier than my previous releases. Made by layering string instruments and percussive objects, then using software to push things further, manipulating sounds into loops, rhythms or drones. I think it’s the most psych-folk album I’ve done in years, so it’s back to my roots in some ways. @phil.cassel plays double bass throughout and @williamryanfritchmusic appears as a guest on a song playing Viola. It was mastered by Ian Hawgood. I took the cover photo on a disposable camera whilst trekking in the Peruvian cloud forests during 2007. The film was damaged in development, hence the red scratches.
