Hello everyone. I am thrilled to announce a very special couple of live performances in NYC. On June 10th & 11th at sunset in the Domino Square amphitheater in Williamsburg I will be performing a set of new and unreleased Andy Boay music, accompanying the choreographer Julia Antinozzi and her dance group in a new program of movement and sound. Julia has graciously incorporated recorded works by myself and my brother into her pieces over the years. I had a chance to finally see one in person a couple of years ago and I was completely overwhelmed. Since then it has been a dream of mine to collaborate directly with her on an original project together. So this is very cool for me <3 Admission is free with RSVP (link in bio) Doors 7pm Show 8pm This evening will also feature a performance by Isa Spector! This is part of a series of weekly performances produced by Sugar Sugar and organized by Public Assembly. Their June calendar is full of compelling and provocative free arts events at the Domino Square amphitheater, and I encourage you to check them out.

Today I am releasing a vinyl reissue of two high school albums of mine from 2006: “So So So We See” and “Trenches In The Sun,” out now on me and my brother Edwin’s label Does Are. It’s a damn 20th Anniversary 2xLP. It is available to order now via bandcamp, and for your favorite record stores to stock via Revolver/Midheaven distro. I originally shared these two albums amongst friends and family, and I did a couple very limited tape and CDR runs for sale at my other bands’ shows in 2007. In 2011 my friend Nelson Hallonquist asked to put them both out together on a tape release. I had started using the name “Andy Boay” that same year, so we put them out together as an old Andy Boay reissue. I put it on Bandcamp and DSPs at some point over the following years as I started making more Andy Boay music, with an eye toward being maximally completist. At some point in my early 30s, as I felt I was “finding my maturing artistic voice,” I tided up the output I had floating around on streaming platforms, and this release came down with some other one-offs and random side projects. What followed was unexpected: a fucking ton of people I did not know reached out to me over email, social media, in-person at shows, and asked me about when “So So So We See / Trenches In The Sun” would be available again. I had no idea you all liked this so much. I have had a weird relationship with this music for a really long time, but at this point I think I am old enough to relax and just be cool with it. It’s genuinely stupid to overthink this shit. I’m truly humbled and grateful for all the encouragement and enthusiasm so many fans and supporters have put out there regarding this project <3 From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. Special thanks to Hannah Davis, Nelson Hallonquist, Valerie Kamen, Chrys Vilvang, Zoe Freilich, Edwin M. White, Lesley White, and Mom & Dad.

Hello This winter I have been working on a new album in my air-shaft office-studio in the East Village. It gets alternately very cold and very hot in there, so I layer accordingly. I recorded my last record there on a Yamaha MT8X, but for this one I am mostly using my Tascam 688, which I find to be a very rewarding machine. I’ve begun utilizing the built-in FSK midi-sync capabilities on this machine, and it’s fun. The MT8X and the 688 both record/play at the same speed and have the same head configuration with 8 tape outs, so when I have needed to ping-pong bounce more than I can do within one machine, I can mix down between them. Committing to ideas and building them up on cassette tape is a joy if you’re into that sort of thing. I like drawing out these white gaff tracking plans, scratching off initial recordings when I mix them together on a new track and free up another channel, and I also like eventually running out of space and having to get creative/minimal with my arrangements. I am putting together a double-LP reissue of some previously available high school albums, should be ready this summer. Your enthusiasm (and patience: I’m looking at you, SSSWS-heads) is appreciated. My last LP “You Took That Walk For The Two Of Us” is available via Midheaven / Revolver USA distribution, so you may have begun seeing copies of it in your favorite small shops around the US and UK. I made a winter-ready, set-&-forget mix for Image Search on NTS. It aired last week and is now available to enjoy in their archive. Work has been fine, if a little slow. I got to visit my brother in California last week and see all the buds. Lots of love, free Palestine, fuck ICE. See you in the Spring ❤️

I played 27 solo gigs on the road this autumn and had a beautiful time. Thanks to everyone who hosted me, helped set up shows, added me to bills, attended gigs, played sets, bought records, gave recommendations. I laughed a lot on this tour and had the time of my life. I was traveling alone for the majority of the East coast leg (except for a few very special gigs with Mike Etten). On the West coast I was blessed with the company of my brother Edwin and our dear old friend Jamie. I have a lot more pictures from the West coast leg because of this. I’m gonna spend the winter months working for $$ and finishing a new record, and maybe putting together a vinyl reissue of some much older material. Thank you for your interest and support this year. Self-releasing the LP in July and touring behind it the last couple months was a fulfilling and thrilling endeavor, one that I hope to repeat in 2026 ❤️

I was so honored and grateful to be featured in issue #499 of The Wire (Sept 2025) that I forgot to give it a home as a hard post. I had a nice conversation with Ryan Meehan at my studio a couple of days before the new album came out in July. When I was coming of age in the 2000s in central Florida, the Wire magazine was an indispensable resource for avant sounds and thoughtful coverage of the artists and communities producing them. To say that it has long been a dream of mine to be featured is an understatement ❤️ Thanks to all @thewiremagazine @cryinmeehan

Talkhouse asked me to speak a little on my involvement with the Merciless Accelerating Rhythms Vol 2 fundraiser for Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, so I took the opportunity to tell a short story that I had not previously found the point in sharing publicly. I hope that it might encourage others in the music industry to reassess a “sideline” stance and speak up. We are all witnesses to Israel’s genocide in Palestine.
