When it comes to magic, sometimes it all starts with a simple pencil drawing. This New Years, I got to create the poster for Old Crow Medicine Show’s New Years celebration- it’s a tradition! Here’s a little peek behind the curtain on the process behind the art.
Almost every concept that lands on my desk starts as an idea. From there, I create a pencil sketch to bring the concept to life. Then when everything’s ready to become a little more permanent, it gets redrawn in marker on transparancy. By the time it get’s to press, everything is complete and in full color.

What a pleasure it has been to create my latest print for @billystrings for his show tonight @thesignaltn in Chattanooga, TN.
The inspiration for this one came from the gnomes in the Fairyland Caverns at Rock City in Chattanooga. With their whimsical, backlight dioramas throughout the meandering cave trail it felt like the perfect pairing for the world of Billy Strings.
