🩷 TIGGY JAMES BARKE 🩷
11.10.2025 - 6.6lb - 7:16am
After 5 days induction and long labour we finally welcomed Tiggy into the world by emergency C section this morning. The whole process has been extremely overwhelming but we can’t believe we’ve finally put a little button on the end of our IVF journey.
You are everything we dreamed of and every single thing has been worth it! 🩷
Thank you endlessly to
@hertsessexfertilitycentre and the incredible midwives at Watford General for making our dreams of becoming parents a reality! ✨
Tiggy is a name that has held deep meaning for both Andy and me for a long time. From the moment we first heard it, even in the hardest, darkest days of IVF, we looked at each other and just knew: if we were ever lucky enough to have a daughter, this would be her name.
We first heard Tiggy at Bill Kenwright’s memorial service, when one of his early EPs of the same name was played. It wasn't just the name that moved us. BKL has given so much to both of us over the years; musical and creative debuts, the chance to play leading roles, explore the world, lifelong friendships, and most importantly, each other. Stripping away all the 'stageyness', the impact those moments have had on our lives is real and profound. Hearing that name in that moment just felt... right.
Later that day, I went home and of course, googled it. I couldn’t believe that Tiggy is actually a shortened version of Antigone. That felt like fate. Not only is it Greek, which is so special to us with our engagement, wedding, and babymoon all rooted in Greece but its meaning was perfect: “Worthy of one’s parents.” Antigone stands for loyalty, love, and deep devotion to family… all the things we’ve held onto through every twist and turn of this wild journey to meet her.
James is a name that belongs to Andy, my dad, and my brother. It felt incredibly special to give her the strength of a name often seen as traditionally male because women are every bit as strong. And if she inherits even a fraction of the strength and character of the men behind that name, I will be endlessly proud.
Tiggy James Barke I hope we are worthy of you 🩷
