After this week’s Brendan Sorsby news at Texas Tech, we examined which programs which would be comfortable if they had to play the backup QB. Florida hasn’t named a starter yet, but it seems coach Jon Sumrall would be comfortable with Aaron Philo or Tramell Jones Jr.

“Out of high school, they got Arch Manning for free.” — @on3 ’s Chris Low recently visited Texas, and Steve Sarkisian told him that part of Manning’s original plan (he’s getting paid now) was to give Texas a discount so the Longhorns could put more talent around him.

The Tommy Lloyd/Dusty May chatter around the UNC job feels like discussing whether Lane Kiffin should leave Ole Miss for Florida or LSU in the fall. My thing back then was that if you’re already at a place competing for national titles in this era, you should consider staying even if the other job is considered historically better. Lloyd and May aren’t Kiffin. And they’re in even better situations than he was at Ole Miss.
